Forbes named Raven Baxter to its 30 Under 30 Science list for 2022 on December 1, 2021. The magazine listed her at 28 as founder of Raven The Science Maven, one of 30 honorees in the category.

The list came out five days after the World Health Organization classified Omicron as a variant of concern. Pew Research Center surveyed 14,497 U.S. adults from November 30 to December 12, 2021. Its February 2022 report found 29% had a great deal of confidence in scientists to act in the public's best interests. That share was 39% in November 2020. In July 2021, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy issued an advisory on health misinformation, warning that it spreads easily on social media.

Forbes' profile calls Baxter "a molecular biologist by training" and "a popular science communicator better known as Dr. Raven the Science Maven." It says her "viral hip-hop music videos and other social media channels communicating scientific information to wide audiences have amassed millions of views." The profile quotes her aim to "joyfully disrupt traditional cultural perceptions about scientists" and names her partnership with Netflix on Ada Twist, Scientist.

Forbes editors Alex Knapp and Katie Jennings built the Science list from nominations. The judges were Rocket Lab founder Peter Beck, National Human Genome Research Institute director Eric Green, Living Carbon cofounder Maddie Hall and AbCellera cofounder Véronique Lecault. Baxter's fellow honorees included Celine Halioua, founder of the dog longevity company Loyal, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory engineer Marianne Gonzalez and Harvard's Pranav Rajpurkar. The editors' roundup of the list named "Communicating STEM" in its headline.

The 2022 class marked ten years of Forbes' Under 30 lists. The first list, in 2012, included Instagram cofounder Kevin Systrom, Spotify founder Daniel Ek and Donald Glover. Of the 600 people in the 2022 class, 47.5% identified as people of color and 38% were women.

In October 2022, Baxter joined fellow listers at the Forbes Under 30 Summit in Detroit.

Baxter, a molecular biologist and science communicator, was then a doctoral candidate at the University at Buffalo. She received her Ph.D. in February 2022. Fortune had named her to its 40 Under 40 in Health in 2020.

Her Forbes 30 Under 30 profile and the full 2022 Science list are on the Forbes website.
