Privacy policy

The short version is that this site collects what you type into its forms so I can reply to you, and that's the whole story. The longer version is below.

What this site collects

There are no accounts or logins here. The only personal information this site collects is what you choose to send through its forms.

  • The contact form asks for your name, email, subject, and message.
  • The booking form asks for your name, email, organization, and event details such as the date, location, audience size, budget, and what you have in mind.
  • The meeting request form asks for your name, email, organization, topic, preferred format, and the timing that works for you.
  • The feedback form asks for your name, email, role, organization, where we met, your words, and whether I may share them publicly.

How I use it

I use what you send to respond to your inquiry, and that's it. Booking and meeting details help me check my calendar and give you a real answer. Feedback is shared publicly only when you say that's okay on the form. I don't add you to a mailing list, and I don't sell or rent your information to anyone.

How your message reaches me

When you submit a form, the site turns it into an email and delivers it to contact@thesciencemaven.com through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend processes the message in order to deliver it. Your submission then lives in my inbox like any other email. If you send a booking inquiry, you also get a short confirmation at the address you gave so you know it arrived.

Hosting and analytics

The site runs on Vercel, which processes standard server logs, including IP addresses, to serve pages and prevent abuse. I use Vercel Analytics to count visits in aggregate, which shows me things like which pages people read and which countries visits come from. It works without cookies and doesn't follow you across other websites.

Links that leave this site

The newsletter goes through Substack, and the social buttons go to their platforms. Once you're there, their privacy policies apply, so it's worth a look if you're curious.

Your choices

If you'd like a copy of what you've sent through a form, or you'd like it deleted, email me and I'll take care of it.
