Dr. Raven Baxter gave a guest talk to Disney technology staff, including executives, on Monday, April 17, 2023. She spoke in person at Disney's campus in Glendale, California, in JETA, the company's internal speaker and training series.

Early in the talk, she took up her name. A slide headed "First things first!" read "Let's get to the most important matter of business!" It set the title card of Disney Channel's That's So Raven beside her own photo and asked, "Who is the real Raven Baxter?"

Raven Baxter is the character Raven-Symoné played on That's So Raven from 2003 to 2007. Disney Channel brought her back in Raven's Home. Its sixth and final season had premiered on April 9, 2023, eight days before the talk.

Baxter's talk told her own story. JETA sessions are internal to Disney and are not published.

JETA stands for Jedi Engineering Training Academy. It is Disney's formal internal training program. It meets two to four times a month at sites across the country, according to a 2019 account by a past speaker. Employees attend in person or by stream to hear internal and outside speakers on innovation.

The talk came during the company's 100th year. Walt and Roy O. Disney founded it on October 16, 1923, and it marked the centennial through 2023 as Disney100.

Baxter worked in drug discovery before turning to science education. Her Ph.D. research at the University at Buffalo focused on science communication, and she is known online as Dr. Raven the Science Maven.

The Walt Disney Company's account of its centennial celebrations is on its website.
